The lodge’s five freestanding villas are all fully air-conditioned and private, each with its own rim-flow swimming pool, expansive wooden deck and private outdoor shower. The lodge blends colonial-style comforts with authentic African eccentricity to create a uniquely luxurious atmosphere.

Those comforts extend to the Jamala Madikwe Royal Spa, the twice-daily game drives, and the “Sofa Safari” – a game-viewing experience from the comfort of a couch overlooking the lodge’s private waterhole. From the sofa, move to the pool, set at the edge of the waterhole under the shade of an ancient Leadwood tree. Jamala Madikwe’s signature experience, however, is the African gourmet dining, designed by award-winning executive chef and general manager, Nico Verster and head chef Jacques Sansom.
