Jaci’s Staff Trust
The generosity and hospitality of the staff are what set Jaci’s apart from other lodges in the area. All staff members are genuinely concerned with your comfort and will cater to your every need. This is largely due to the personal vested interest each individual Jaci’s staff member has in their guests’ experience.
Jaci’s Lodges is the only accommodation establishment in South Africa to offer its staff a share in the lodge, in line with a very clear government mandate to provide upliftment in the area.
Other establishments followed this government directive by simply providing employment, or in some cases being run by the community. But Jan and Jaci were committed to truly empowering and uplifting their staff and decided to make 25.1% of the business available to staff through Jaci’s Staff Trust.
Staff who have been employed at Jaci’s for more than five years are given the opportunity to become shareholders in the business. The 25.1% shareholding is held in a trust and this is then divided between eligible staff members, who receive their portion of the profits at financial year-end.
Through a development programme, staff members both develop their skills and grow within the business while reaping the financial rewards of their hard work and outstanding customer service.
