The staff of Jaci’s Lodge deserve all the compliments they get! They made our wedding anniversary break very special. The chef came up with some great food for vegetarians like us!

Community service projects
Investing in the community comes naturally to us and, aside from the Jaci’s Staff Trust, we run a number of small community service projects.
Recycling by the local community
In collaboration with Collect-a-Can, we run a recycling project: All dustbins within the lodge are colour-coded according to the waste they collect. Once the waste has been sorted, it is then compressed in a machine supplied by Collect-a-Can, and the compacted bricks are taken to the closest recycling depot.
In addition to supporting ad hoc community projects by contributing time, expertise or resources, we also run education programmes to teach local schoolchildren about nature conservation and the importance of protecting our wildlife.
Of their own accord, our staff are particularly community minded and will often support other staff and community members in times of need.

The Khayelitsha Cookie Company
At Jaci’s Lodges we believe in supporting those who support others, which is why we are proud to offer our guests a variety of delicious cookies produced by Cape Town-based business, the Khayelitsha Cookie Company.
Born out of a need to create employment for the many unskilled, unemployed single mothers living in Cape Town’s Khayelitsha township, the company now employs 44 ladies who own a 30% share in the company.
Their growing assortment of delights – handmade choc-chunk wonders, ginger snaps, shortbread safari cookies and, a firm favourite, chocolate brownies – is fast becoming a household name both locally and overseas.
The Khayelitsha Cookie Company was recently runner-up in the Small Business Awards hosted by 567 CapeTalk, and Khayelitsha Cookies are available at selected stores in the Western Cape, with more stores to follow.
Visit their website at www.khayelitshacookies.co.za for more information.
