We’ve
had a fantastic time in every respect. We’ve
been charged by a black Rhino, seen cheetah, lion,
white rhino, elephant, giraffe, wild dogs,
hyena, jackal and much more.
The staff is to be commended for making us all
feel so at home and so welcome. We will
definitely return. |

2008/2009 Rearrangement of priorities
Economy in turmoil, recession the order of every quota, retrenchment in the
lips of every manager across the board in the world Jaci's Lodges. So far so
good we have weathered the economic storm not preempting any conditions ahead.
But so far we still have every staff member. As a staff trust representative I
would to thank the guests who visited Jaci's more especially the return guests
who once again wanted to spend their hard earned money at our lodge what can we
do without you. The commitment of the staff who are partly the owners of the
property, after completing five years of employment every staff member becomes
the shareholder in the lodge, that is also another cornerstone of commitment.
The management who are making sure the ship does no sink, the entrepreneur Jan
van Heteren who through his ideas we are feeding close to 500 family members.
The lodge has employed 57 staff members who are literally responsible to feed 6
to 10 family members at home that is how I have calculated. Where could we have
been without his precious idea?
In the year 2000 we planted a tree and nurtured it and now we getting fruits from
it every season, the staff owns 25.1 percent of the shares and we have just shared
the dividends among the qualifying members who have completed 5 years of employment.
Cutting the cost and prioritizing the business priorities is what I can describe
this 2008/2009.
Thank you
Staffs trust representative

Thank You from Forest Farm Centre!
Hi Jan, Jaci and all your wonderful Staff,
We really cannot express enough our great appreciation for all the wonderful
hospitality you extended to the residents on their recent 2 day visit to Jaci's
Safari Lodge.
On their return the residents were so excited to tell us all about their
experiences! Highlights...
Watching the animals from the "Dark room where you must be quiet" (The Hide!)
– Seeing the lions drinking at the water hole!
Being chased by the Elephants on the game drives and watching a young
Elephant playing "Bfana Bfana" Soccer!
Eating supper, by the fire, under the stars in the Boma - feeling like real
V.I.P.s!
The FOOD so delicious and so plentiful and was an absolute treat to for
the residents.
The bedrooms were luxurious and the outside shower made them feel like
movie stars.
Last but not least your Staff are amazing treasures! They are helpful,
polite, understanding and at the same time full of fun. They are, indeed,
an asset to your Lodge!
Many thanks once again. You are absolute stars to spoil our residents
to such a extravagant experience!
Kind regards,
Jean Esterhuysen
(Social Worker)

Jaci’s
Safari Lodge (Madikwe - South Africa)
Jaci’s Safari
Lodge has now been open for 8 years - the significance
of this in respect of our staff is enormous….
Jaci’s Staff Trust owns 25.1% of the shares
in the company owning both Lodges. All we ask
from any staff member wanting to become a shareholder
in Jaci’s (through the Jaci’s Staff
Trust) is to work for 5 consecutive years - we
are delighted to announce an additional 4 staff
members are now proud members of our Jaci’s
Staff Trust bringing the total to 16 newly empowered
individuals. Jan and I firmly believe we could
have no better shareholders than our staff who
strive to ensure every guest staying at Jaci’s
has the most incredible and memorable African
Safari experience. |

Rugby at "Lofters" Versfeld
David Motsisi
To Jaci's
What an experience! We left Madikwe on Saturday afternoon down
to Pretoria for a Rugby match between the Blues and Blue Bulls
There was a lot of razzmatazz before the game as one could have
expected at the Lofters Stadium - Versfeld. Remember this was a
super 14 game. To my opinion, the southern hemisphere is still
the best when coming to the game of rugby.
The game started at a fastest pace with "Brian Habana" scoring
the first to the Bulls. "Bakkies Botha"as usual was as solid
as a rock, so as Ntugane. Black, Indian, White, and Colored we
were all together as one. Truly speaking sports unite people.
The Blue Bulls won the game 59 - 26 to Blues. "What a game!"
We were singing and entertained by the Bulls mascots too. We were
very happy when we went back to Madikwe. Thanks to Management
of Jaci's for giving us this wonderful opportunity, Jan &
Jaci BIG UP!
Danny Mahoko
Thank you I enjoyed rugby and the time you gave me to watched
the game "thanks"
Thanks to David Motsisi on giving me the love for rugby. Bakkies
Botha you are the man
BIG UP!
George Boya
Jan and Jaci
I cannot express how much of an impact they have made on me
(Blue bulls). I used to hear lot of stories about the rugby,
and there I was, watching live game playing. It was first
experience for me in this kind of sport.
It is truly an amazing feeling to wake up next morning, feeling
completely inspired. I feel so lucky to have been able to
watch live game. Thank you
Mooketsi Mocca Godfrey Monye (I’m in love with Rugby)
I don’t even know where and how to start but I will just cut through the corners.
Jaci and Jan thank you very, very much for wonderful opportunity and a experience
of live time. Tell you the honest truth I never thought I will ever have the love
or be passionate for rugby. Everything started as I was recommended to go watch
the rugby at Lofters Stadium - Super 14 game.
The mood at the stadium is extremely high, every time the go for the ball is like
you are pulled from your chair. I found myself going up and down the tires and
scrum. Everything about rugby is now part of my soul I love the game especially
the fastest runner Brian Habana and the anchor in middle Bakkies Botha and Ndugane
up and come but good technique in defending. Well done Bulls for nice win 59 - 26
you deserve the best. |

Comments
by staff members about the trust which has been
set up for staff who have worked at Jaci's for
five years
Aggie
I am happy like I don’t
know what to say. None of the other Lodges do
this (Staff Trust) only my darlings(J & J).
I am happy to be a member of the Trust so I can
work hard to look after Jaci’s Lodge and
I will have something in my Savings Account to
look after me when I am too old to work any more.
Naomi
I am so proud to be part of the Staff Trust as
it shows we are good trustworthy people at Jacis.
We wish our best for this Company that does us
such a good thing to give us a Staff Trust. I
am really happy as I am saving money for my children
and my old age.
